Fotos nan Lavi Ayisyen

I am in the midst of preparing a written entry, but in the meantime, here are some pictures displaying some of the reasons I am so compelled to be here.

Mosquito nets arrived at the beginning of this month! This is a huge blessing and accomplishment, as malaria has been a frequent visitor to FWAL. From left: Stevenson, Maxuel, Mike and Richardson

My pupil Stevenson and me, doing memory drills

Staelle, Thamara and Fabienne waiting patiently for their Easter presents

My name, written by Stevenson. (Brigitte is the French spelling, which I use here).

We had a baby! Francheese, 3 months old and named after a fabulous Italian Nurse Midwife volunteer, came to Ste. Anne last week. She is beautiful, healthy and growing well!

Antoine and Rose-Berline, Ste. Anne kiddos

My precious girl Erline. We sit together every time I am at Ste. Anne, and she immediately takes my hair down from my ponytail and runs her hands through it for hours on end. She is happy, so very gentle and compassionate.

Sweet patient at St. Damien, the best (and free) pediatric hospital in Haiti.

Fr. Rick, at morning mass, which is most often a funeral. He is committed to honoring the dead from the hospitals, giving them a dignified memorial and burial. "What they did not have in life we must give them in death - respect and peace."

A few of the precious little ones from the Abandoned Room - Lubin, Carly, Lourdy and Naika (peeking behind Lourdy).
